Junior Review
The Junior section was headed up again by Susan Lawless and had another successful season. With over 120 primary school children enjoying the hockey delivered from over twenty coaches, we had 5 blitzes, with only one cancelled due to the bad weather conditions. Unfortunately we had another training session cancelled when the country came to a standstill due to the snow. But with loads of hockey played, we got great feedback from the parents, so there are lots of eager hockey faces looking forward to next season. Thanks to all the regular coaches for giving up their time and skills this season, and to all who stepped in when help was needed.

Academy Review
This was the first year to introduce the Academy to our Youth Section of the club. The Academy consisted of our secondary school children, who we felt deserved to no longer be called “Junior”!

Our 1st and 2nd year girls stayed training as normal on Sunday mornings but our 3rd and 4th year girls joined our U14 boys on Friday nights. This is one of many new things being introduced into our Youth section and with the help of our newly formed Youth Committee we hope to keep improving year on year. A big thanks goes to all our coaches and a special thanks needs to go to a group of parents who rallied the troops and ran two very successful fundraisers. The money raised will be put right back into the Academy section with the purchase of goalie gear and several other must haves for next season. Like the Junior section we rely on parents and members to help and thanks to that help we will see more growth of talented players coming through into our senior section.
